If you like group discussion about philosophy in general with a somewhat broad topic at the beginning to get you going, then this is a great group. If you want to focus on one subject and engage in a dialogue where you participate a lot, then this is probably not a good group for you.

This group has a nice Saturday morning routine of viewing the recorded lectures of esteemed professors on various philosophical topics followed immediately by group discussion. The materials are excellent, and the discussions are quite pleasant.

People who like face-to-face conversations rather than just reading or other one-sided ways of learning and taking in new ideas. Meeting new people and finding out how you differ and how you are the same is why meetups exist.

If we are to not be victims in life "Critical Thinking" is an important ability. Getting involved with a group such as this is a good start.

Very welcoming. Terry greeted my wife and I as soon as we showed up and gave us a brief run-down of what had been covered in the previous meetings. Other group members were very open as well, and I had several side conversations during the break and after the meeting.

  •  The people who attended the meeting were very gracious with their opinions. There's a strong sense of respect for each other, and that's essential for good and positive discussions. Although the topics were not specific at all, we still managed well to look at several issues and offer our personal thoughts on them.
