The Syracuse Philosophy Meetup Group

Meet other local amateur Philosophers to discuss the world and what we know about it. Thinking about complex topics is difficult enough without doing it alone. By using study aids such as Wikipedia, MIT on line, and perhaps a common source such as "The sociology of philosophies. A global theory of intellectual change" by Randall Collins, we could encourage each other to keep learning. The goal would be to examine ideas not spread them. We hope to recreate our best moments in college seminars without boring lectures, exams, reading lists, term papers, or tuition. Credit comes from helping fellow participants understand issues just a little better.
