By George I Think I've Got It!!!
With a little help from our friends at Meetup.com I have figured out how to cancel the automated scheduling. Hooray!!! No more confusion. Now there will only be a meetup scheduled when I manually schedule it. Much better. Ok, that's it. Just wanted to update you all.
