"i think the group is going very well and im sorry to have to leave!"
This group is about coming together for some quality deep and meaningful conversation. It is that simple. The key to this group however lies in the term quality. Quality implies an intention to get the most out of the conversation as possible. Going the deepest, finding the most meaning, having the most fun. . . all keys to quality experience.
To help us achieve this goal, we employ the philosophy laid forth by quantum physicist David Bohm on the nature of conversation, its pitfalls, and its profound potential. (See the Bohmian Dialogue piece in the Files). From this philosophy comes a few general guidelines for engaging in dialogue to maximize the creative discovery of a WHOLE group of conversing individuals. The group will not be focused entirely on this philosophy, however. It is merely a means to avoid the natural tendency in deep conversations of slipping into argument and competing viewpoints. Arguments result when two or more peoples perspectives and intentions are going in opposite directions with each side merely trying to be the victor in the pointless butting of heads. Argumentative conversations don't often result in quality experiences. Consequently we are going to bear the intention (even in the heat of disagreement) to remain aligned in a common goal of continual support, mutual growth and collaborative discovery.
Anybody care to converse?
We are currently meeting every other Wednesday @ 7 PM. Keep your eyes peeled for updated Meetup schedules.
Hope to see you there . . .
