Greetings!

My name is Gene. For the time being, I am the new Philadelphia Philosophy Meetup group organizer. We can discuss the possibilities of changes in meetup time, date, and location at the April 27 meetup. The meetup will be from 7pm to 8:20 (Starbucks closes at 8:30).

My apologies for being absent from the March 23 meeting. Was under the weather. If the topic below wasn't gone into or only lightly touched, I'd be interested in starting with that again.

This month's opening topic: I'm thinking about starting off with questons regarding "Paradoxes" like: Do real ones exist? Should we accept them in our lives? Can they be a good thing?

All levels of philosophical knowledge are invited.

LOL. I'm going to be ready for Lee's next use of the "Law of the Middle(?)" as proof of there being no free will. I'm doing some research on that.

We went over Paradoxes pretty thoroughly specifically those surrounding religion. I will attend regardless of the topic but I would be interested discussing sayings, trueisms, and other personal philosophies that have increased ones life, e.g. "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush", on the one hand it discourages taking risks and promotes settling for whats in front of you, on the other hand it encourages you to appreciate what you have.
