Hi All,

The Truth, the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth!

So, the polling is closed for this month and Monday 28 April @7.30 pm will be The Truth meeting. With 57% of the votes, it was a clear winner.

Is honesty always the best policy? We all tend to be taught that we should always tell the truth but the evidence is that we all tell lies on a pretty regular basis. Maybe they are 'little white lies' or evasions of the truth rather than out and out falsehoods. Maybe our motives are to protect the sensitivities of others - or just to protect ourselves. But is dishonesty ever truly acceptable? Could we live comfortably if we always had to be truthful and hear the truth from others? Seen the Jim Carrey film "Liar Liar"?

Is it the case that sometimes we should lie? Can dishonesty ever be the best and correct policy?

I've put a document in the Files area that you might find interesting. It gives some of the psychology background on lying and the examples may be eye opening!

Lastly, please remember to RSVP if you haven't already. It always helps to know who to expect.
