Meet other local amateur Philosophers to discuss the the big questions and the thoughts of the great thinkers.

I envisage this group as an opportunity for members to read an important work of philosophy and then use the discussion as a springboard for attempting to get a grip on what the author is trying to communicate.

I'm presently involved in a Catholic philosophy group that applies this approach to Aquinas and to a journal of Catholic theology, and I think it might be interesting to apply the same approach to authors such Nietzsche, James, Kirkegaard, Kant and authors.

My e-mail is petersean@aol.com if anyone is interested in making any suggestions.

I think I might have some interest in this meetup.

I have spoken with a couple of people and there is some interest in canvassing the broad field of human philosophy by starting with Plato and then - maybe - moving to something outside the Western tradition.

I propose that we get together Saturday morning around 11:00 to discuss a plan of action. Let's meet at Piazza de Panne at 8043 N. Cedar.

Hi, I'm extremely interested in this group because as with many of you (I suspect) there seems to be far too little attention paid to "thinking outside of the daily grind" =)

Philosophy is a pasion of mine. To seek truth in the myths of mans mind and to bare going beyond what is said to be accepted as what is now thought of as truth. To understand humanity (if that is at all truly possible).
